Local-Overseas Merit Scholarship
(L-OMS)
Local-Overseas Merit Scholarships are offered to academically outstanding students with leadership potential to study at the local universities. Whilst pursuing their undergraduate courses, L-OM Scholars will be sponsored for their participation in overseas Student Exchange Programmes. L-OM Scholars are encouraged to proceed overseas for a Master's course immediately upon graduation if they perform well in their studies. |

Their Master's course will be fully sponsored by PSC. These awards are as prestigious and competitive as the OMS awards.
L-OM Scholars also qualify to be in the Management Associates Programme (MAP) upon graduation. The grooming and development under this programme are specially designed to provide the scholar with valuable skills to prepare them for a high-flying and fulfilling management-track career in the public sector.
There are 'Open', 'Tied' and 'Specialist' awards under this scheme where 'Tied' scholars will be posted to the Ministry he or she is tied to upon graduation. 'Specialist' scholars will pursue a specialist career track.
Course of Study
A wide range of courses of study are available under the L-OMS.
Condition
For at least one academic year during their undergraduate studies in local universities, scholars will be required to stay in university hostels. The scholar will be given a hostel allowance for this.
